It should help to keep swelling down. Kippei always used ice.

I guess it's hard to ask someone who just gave you a black eye if everything is okay. Is it family stuff, do you think?

It is? You should only ice it about 10-15 minutes every couple of hours. Try to keep the weight off of the eye. You can use a bag of frozen vegetables if you don't have the ice.

Warm compresses tomorrow or the next day will help get your circulation going around the bruising.

If it doesn't look better by tomorrow evening, you might ask Hatori-sensei to look at it and make sure there wasn't an injury to the bones around the eyeball or your eye itself.
